If the agent cancels
100% refund
The agent bears the cancellation charge. You get back everything you paid.
If you cancel
70% refund
A 30% cancellation charge applies and goes to the agent, guide or driver you booked.
While you're still bidding or negotiating, nothing has been charged and no cancellation applies. A traveler can withdraw a trip request, and an agent, guide or driver can decline or withdraw a bid, at any time before a bid is accepted and payment is made.
A booking only becomes "confirmed" once a traveler accepts a bid (or books a fixed-price package) and payment goes through. Everything below applies from that point onward.
Once a tour is confirmed, the agent, guide or driver has committed to it. If they cancel after that point, they bear the cancellation charge — not the traveler.
The traveler is refunded in full and is notified immediately so they have time to rebook. Cancellation charges are not passed on to the traveler under any circumstance once a booking is confirmed.
Repeated cancellations by a provider affect their standing on Clapscape, including their search ranking.
If a traveler cancels after the tour has been confirmed, a cancellation charge applies to cover the arrangements already made on the provider's side.
The traveler receives 70% of the amount paid back as a refund; the remaining 30% is retained as the cancellation charge and released to the provider.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method through our payment processor. Once a cancellation is confirmed on the platform, the refund is initiated immediately — actual arrival in your account depends on your bank or card issuer.
Clapscape's own service fee on a cancelled booking is not charged, regardless of which side cancels.
